Mama’s Beauty Must Haves

As we enter the 36 week of pregnancy, there are a few items I rely on to make me feel “normal“. Between my ever-changing hormones, multiple breakouts and sleepless nights I rely on a few products to keep me in tune with my body, my breakouts under control and my restless body at ease.

Today is officially my first day of Maternity Leave, but before today I was working a full time job plus helping Christian run Coronato’s Clean Cuisine. Needless to say I have been exhausted, both mentally and physically and I wanted to become more grounded and in tune with my body before our little mama decided to arrive. I began to do research on essential oils and just when I thought I didn’t know where to turn or what oils to get or how to use them, my good friend Nikki, creator of Pixel In Paradise posted about Doterra Essential Oils. I reached out to her and she sent me a ton of oils to try, including: Serenity Blend, Balance Blend, Frankicense + Lavender, Breathe Blend and Grapefruit. My current favorite is Serenity blend. I feel like my mind runs at 1000 miles a minute during the day so when it comes to night time I rely on the Serenity Blend to bring me back down to earth to stay relaxed & calm. To learn more about the oils I mentioned and how to use them head on over to Nikki’s website! I now use these oils EVERY DAY (yes, every day). They help me with self-care, managing stress and to keep me connected with my body and mind. Who knew I could be so self aware!! Go me!

I was lucky enough to have been sent The L’OREAL Pure-Clay Mask* and Pure-Clay Cleanser* and have put them to use for about a week now (if you follow me on Instagram you’ve seen my orange face!). What I LOVE about both of these products is that they are mattifying! I have incredibly oily skin and with pregnancy comes pimply skin. The cleanser literally leaves my skin glowing, oil free and so smooth! These products couldn’t have come at a better time during my pregnancy! These may even make it into my Hospital Bag (stay tuned for that Blog Post and Printable Check List).

Another item in my shower I have been loving is an Exfoliating Detox Scrub from The Seaweed Bath Co.. Knock on wood, I haven’t seen a stretch mark yet and I attribute this to my routine of exfoliating once a week and continuing to lotion my belly/ areas that have had a few more inches added onto them ;). This scrub is made with all natural ingredients and is Paraben Free, which is super important for us mamas-to-be!

And last but not least my Pregnancy Tea. You’re probably thinking “this isn’t a beauty item”, but we all know (at least now I do that I’m 36 weeks pregnant) that beauty sleep is a real thing! And anything warm and cozy helps me get a better night sleep these days.. I use “better night sleep” very loosely.. This tea helps support a healthy pregnancy by preparing the womb for childbirth. My favorite thing about this tea is the cute little “Reason to Love” on the side of the box: “You’re big, you’re round, you’re beautiful. Or maybe you’ve got just a hint of a bump showing. Either way, you’re probably doing everything you can to nurture that new life inside you. That’s why our herbalists created this blend of supportive herbs to help tone the uterus and prepare the womb for childbirth. A combination of raspberry and nettle leaf, as well as other herbs like alfalfa, we love this tea both for its pleasingly mild, minty taste as well as for its gentle support of a healthy pregnancy.”

What have been your go to beauty faves during pregnancy?! I rely a lot on the mama’s I follow on social media to turn me onto the latest and greatest items so feel free to share with us below what you use!

Consult with your physician before using any of these products.
*I was sent the L’OREAL products in exchange for a review. I do not receive products in return for positive reviews. All opinions are that of my own and I will always disclose whether or not a product was sent to me to review!
