Walkabout for National Heart Health Month!

I’m participating in Walkabout, are you?!

Vionic’s annual Walkabout challenge started February 1st in honor of National Heart Health Month. The Walkabout encourages people to live a healthy lifestyle by walking everyday for 30 days (for as little as 30 minutes). The Walkabout campaign is open to the public to serve as champions of walking, putting a spotlight on walking and taking steps toward a personal commitment to a healthy lifestyle at the start of the new year. Anyone can participate in the Vionic Walkabout simply by signing up HERE!!

Participants will receive Vionic’s “Get Active” guide with fitness tips to optimize your Walkabout experience!

“Walking can become almost equal to jogging in terms of getting your heart rate pumping for a healthy cardiovascular workout,” says Dr. Andrew Weil. “It is probably the safest Exercise option of all, with the least chance of injury.”

By participating in Vionic Walkabout, you’ll have the chance to walk away with some seriously great prizes! Through photo and caption contests on Facebook and Instagram, they will give away weekly prizes such as new Vionic Shoes, Dr. Weil Cookbooks and Visa gift cards. Plus, they’ll select a Grand Prize winner to receive an all-expense paid trip to Napa, CA!!! (UH HELLO WEST COAST!) Share your Walkabout journey via social media using the hashtag #VionicWalkabout for your chance to win!

Research shows that walking as little as 30 minutes a day can lower the risk of heart disease (America’s Number 1 killer) by as much as 40 percent. By even taking two or three 10-15 minute walks per day, people can improve blood pressure, reduce the risk of diabetes and improve mental wellbeing.

SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR! Sign up, win prizes and get walking! Let me know when you’ve joined me and be sure to enter your email in the subscribe box in the top right to receive notifications when I post a new blog!
