My “Honest” Review For A Natural Home

“Our skin absorbs 60% of the products we put on our body”

I’ve made a conscious effort for the past year or so to use better, all natural products for my skin. Although the day may be far away, I know that one day I will become a mother! And because of that I decided to make better choices for my body. I eat healthy and am aware of what I put into my body, but I made a choice to become aware of what I put on my body.

I started with Michael Todd products and continued to use them for quite sometime. I ventured off and tried natural shampoos, soaps and face wash. I’ve found A TON I didn’t care for and very few that I absolutely loved. The shampoos just weren’t working, they left my hair dry and brittle and it looked very unhealthy. I resorted to using oil for deep conditioning and went back to brand name shampoos. For body wash, I was still looking for that perfect all-natural option.

Christian knew of a local company, Lave Soap, who makes their own natural, homemade, soap and for Christmas bought me a whole box!! The best part about them is a percentage of the profits goes toward animal rescues!! (Ya’ll know how much I love that!) They not only look beautiful, but they smell and work amazing.

Christian, being the thoughtful man that he is, thought about taking my all-natural lifestyle a step further. On a simple piece of paper, the most heart-felt thing was written:

“This company seems like e exactly what you have been looking for. Why not start using all these healthy products BEFORE we bring our own bundle of joy into this world. I love you.”

And with it was a gift certificate to The Honest Company. Their website best explains their products: “effective, but unquestionably safe, eco-friendly, beautiful, convenient, and affordable“. They offer everything from baby wipes & diapers, to surface cleaners and shampoos. They also offer prenatal and multi-vitamins, sunscreen, candles, laundry detergent, dish soap and SO MUCH more. My first bundle consisted of multi-surface cleaner, hand soap, body wash, shampoo, healing balm and body lotion. Although the lotion doesn’t give off that rose scent us women love so much, it works just like any other lotion, except it’s toxin free and made with only the safest ingredients! The multi-surface cleaner is amazing, I love the clean smell and I cleaned our entire house with it just yesterday! The hand soap is just as good! I really look forward to getting the laundry detergent and dish soap soon.. and one day, the adorable diapers! I will keep you all updated on everything I get from The Honest Company in the future. 1. I must try the Lave soap!! I went all natural with as well from everything to facial products, toothpaste, lotions, etc. It’s hard to find the right products but once I did it was worth all the trial and error. Nice post!
